Meet Compass Pointe Golf Club – NC’s Golf Coast’s Newest Golf Course

There’s more than sand and surf in North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands! Also known as “NC’s Golf Coast”, the Brunswick Islands offer year-round tee times on more than 30 championship golf courses.  With some of the best golf courses in the country, guests will find an option to suit every level of play from novice to professional.

North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands has recently welcomed a new addition to its world-class courses, Compass Pointe Golf Club. Our latest addition celebrated its grand opening this past June in the town of Leland. Not only is it the newest course in the Brunswick Islands, it is the first course to open in North Carolina since 2010.  The course was designed by acclaimed golf course designer Rick Robbins, whose designs dot across the globe from Iowa and South Carolina to Beijing, China.

Highlighted features of Compass Pointe include:

  • A full 18-hole course with an “Add One” 19th hole, a perfect challenge for those who think 18 holes just aren’t enough.
  • Practice facilities, which include an 18-hole putting course, a practice range with a large hitting area, a chipping green and a practice bunker with a target green.
  • Unique use of natural land features, including wetlands, vegetation and wildlife habitat to create a course that fits into its environment.
  • Old style “push up greens” using native sand from within the site, similar to the style of Pinehurst in the 1920s.
  • Elevations that range from 23-75 feet above sea level, along with five sets of tees, including a separate Par Three tee.
  • Wide fairways and large greens that allow shots to be hit along the ground like courses in Scotland.

Be one of the first to play Compass Pointe Golf Club and then hit one (or more) of the other 30 plus courses in the county. Book your own golf and accommodations or use one of the area’s many golf packagers to arrange your stay.  With over 120 miles of fairways in the Brunswick Islands, you’ll want to make several trips to NC’s Golf Coast!
